#1st Time ‘to! (updated)

My sons’ yaya (who has been with my family for few years already – she was my mom’s then was handed to my Kuya when their yaya left but was returned to my mom as her work is just so-so.  I got her when her younger sister left us to get married.  I know her work was so-so but she was okay with the kids.  At least mabait and can cook.), left last Tuesday, May 22.  Haba ng intro noh.

I had to let her go na.  She’s supposed to take her vacation early part of May as what was agreed upon.  End-April, she decided to move it to May 22 (which is a Tuesday).  I told her that it can’t be.  Either she goes home on the agreed schedule or she takes it on December.  Aba! Nag-inarte.  She claimed she won’t come back anymore when she goes home in December.  Aba! Aba!

So I asked my mom to find me a replacement in her province.  They were able to get one.  I opted to ask my yaya if she really plans to leave and not come back.  Baka nabigla lang?!  It seemed she changed her mind na so I asked her when does she plan to take her vacation – either she can go home in June (during the week when there’s a holiday) or she can wait until December for a longer vacation.  Eto na… she came back to me insisting if she can come home on May 22.  Hayz!  I told her firmly that is not possible so I ended up letting her go.

The yaya my mom was supposed to get from the province backed out.  Hayz again!  I have my mom’s maid for the meantime.  But I have taken the chance to get from an agency this time.  Ang hirap maghanap ng yaya these days.  I just ask my mom if she could be in our place while we are at work so that the kids will not be left alone under her only care.  #Sigurista ako!

I just prayed this yaya from agency is heaven sent!   The yaya left us after 10days.  Gave me a lame excuse but we were really ready to let her go.  I guess we were all scared to leave her with my boys.  My mom's maid is back with us for the meantime.  There is a househelp on the way, who I heard was a cousin of my MIL's neighbor *cross fingers*

...dahil sa katakawan sa ice cream. That's the only culprit I know.

Remember this post? We were too excited with our Electrolux no-frost ref that we bought lots & lots of ice cream in S&R - Starbucks' Mocha Frappuccino ice cream + Blue Bunny's Chunky Chocolate Chips ice cream + Bake N Churn's Ube ice cream cake. The ice cream cake we bought in SM North Annex for only Php199. And I think I had too many cups and slices over the weekend kaya yesterday, I lost my voice and by mid-afternoon, I have body aches & chills na. By evening, I was too dizzy at the office, I threw up. That's it, I went home early but I needed to pass by the restroom of Trinoma as I needed to throw up again (TMI!). When I got home, I threw up again... I was sooo sick that hubby took in charge of feeding and burping Rafa last night. I went on SL today. I needed to rest or else my body will give up.

But... but... there's another Bake N Churn's Black Forest Ice Cream Cake (Php250.00) for Rafa's 5th Month Birthday celebration tonight hayz ;(

Not Giving Up!

...because I was sad today (though I have somehow accepted... and learned to be contented for what was given), I decided to walk a little after my dinner to Burgos Circle and give Milk Tea another try. This time, I'm trying this much raved about - Serenitea's Wintermelon Milk Tea. I ordered the medium size with 100% sugar and black pearls.

My verdict: I actually liked it!

I should have gotten the large size. I didn't know it will be that good. I was disappointed kasi when I first tried a milk tea in Bubble Tea.

Now, I'm happy again! And maybe I should give "Happy Lemon" a chance too... what do you think?

gloomy day

No, am not complaining. I even welcome it... after weeks and months of scorching heat.

I'm just curious... is it officially the rainy season yet? Rains started pouring yesterday, June 1 and it still is as gloomy as yesterday. I hope the rains bring forth new blessings for me and my family.

My back has been hurting again ouchy! It happened to me last year and it took about 2 weeks or so for the pain to disappear. Now, I'm in pain again.

Our electricity bill, that is.

I was shocked as Chuvaness when I received our electricity bill this weekend. It was the highest bill we got since we have stayed in the condo for the last 3 years. Php3,200 ++ waaahh! Though it wasn't as high as that of Chuvaness but really it's a far cry from our usual bill of Php1,500-2,000. Our highest then was only around Php2,500. So I had to re-align our budget.

Geez... and it seems it's not the last as I have heard there was another rate increase.

What's wrong with SM?

I wonder what's wrong with SM?

We went last Saturday to Mall of Asia just because hubby prefers the Cuts4Tots branch there. So to avoid the hassle, we decided to do our grocery at the SM Hypermart since we are there already. We usually go to Landmark, Trinoma for our grocery. But to my dismay, I totally forgot that they don't have Colgate anymore as well as Palmolive...geez! Oh, I was told by one of the salesman behind the counter where Monterey used to be that Monterey also pulled out! What?! In the end, it was still a hassle for hubby had to drop by yesterday at Landmark, Trinoma to buy the items that were not readily available in SM. So really what is wrong?

And even Star Cinema pulled out of their cinemas?

Last Monday, as the rest of the Filipino people is mourning the passing away of Former President Corazon Aquino, hubby is silently mourning the lost of his Sony Ericsson (the one we got from my dad which replaced his Nokia unit). He doesn't really remember where he misplaced it. And I have tried calling his number but it was just ringing then after a couple of tries, I could no longer reach the number. Some soul probably got hold of it already and didn't have the conscience to return it to the owner huhuhu!

Now, we are on a look-out for a new mobile and we're also waiting for funds to come in hahaha! It's either I buy myself an iPhone *eyes twinkling* and hubby can use my O2. Or we are considering these units:

1. htc Touch Viva

2. Nokia E63 is way cheaper and we can even buy 2 (the Ruby Red color for me harharhar!)

But I will forever drool on this...

I can even settle for the old model. I hope there is a reasonable price in Greenhills.

Summer Fun at the Queen City of the South (10 May 2009) - Day 3

My mom, mom-in-law (MIL) and myself spent Mother's Day in Cebu hihihi! And since it is also our last day and we were taking the 5:20PM flight later that day, I requested for a late check-out and luckily, we were given until 3PM. With no itinerary set for the day, we just maximized our stay in the hotel. My brother-in-law (BIL) and his gf ate breakfast really early to be able to swim the whole morning.

Me & hubby, on the other hand, went to the beach after our breakfast for a stroll. It was high tide (you see, it was low tide during afternoons which is quite the opposite when we went to Mactan, Cebu last December 2006 that it was low tide during mornings...) so we decided to bring Enzo to the beach so he could play since the water is clear (unlike in Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort where we stayed during our honeymoon where there are jellyfish and starfish though I'm not sure now...that was about 2 years ago!). In fairness, the breakfast buffet in Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort is something we look forward to. And we did enjoy our stay there as well except for the beach part.

I totally "heart" this shot. Also because I took it hihihi! You might wonder why hubby only has a few pictures because he prefers his shots and he really doesn't think I take good shots. But this proves him otherwise harharhar! What do you think?

We ordered from Greenwich for lunch and it took them almost 2 hours to deliver the food... no kidding! We finally left the hotel at past 3PM.

And here goes the grueling story of our flight to Manila...

When we checked-in at the counter, we were already advised that our flight was delayed and moved from 5:20PM to 7:35PM. It was because they had to change aircraft. We were also given meal coupons for the delay. Your choice are: Dunkin Donuts, Fruit Magic and another food stall I totally forgot! By almost 7PM, we realized that we have not seen any aircraft yet that landed hmmm! No announcements of a further delay was given but when I approached the desk, the guy advised me that the aircraft has not even left Manila yet. What?! Finally, by 7PM past, the guy made an announcement that the aircraft will only leave Manila at 8:15PM and we will board at about 8:50PM geez! So, yup! We got back to Manila at about 10PM already. Lesson learned: better re-confirm your flights! Which I normally do when I travel abroad, I was just complacent this time since it was, after all, just a domestic flight.

Except for this particular boo-boo, it was truly a fun, fun break from the hustle and bustle of the city! Now, I wonder what our next stop will be...

the weather "was" promising

... until last night when it rained! I was happy with the weather yesterday - sunny & warm and was hoping it would last until the weekend. Now, it's been raining non-stop. geez!

Our itinerary have changed a bit.

cRaZy weather!

Really! It is! Especially this year when we started it with a "freezing" cold one. And when they announced that it would last a while, it suddenly became hot... hotter! And since I have accepted the fact that it's summer season now, the heat is up as well as our electricity. I just paid Php 2,060.00 today for our Meralco bill... geez! That's additional Php 500.00 from my original budget but what can I do. Then the rains came pouring in duh!

I just hope and pray that the sun will shine upon us when we get to Cebu in two weeks time! Lapit na...

MRT = Inconvenience!

Yes, those two words are synonymous. One and the same. Tantamount!

I bet those who also take the MRT to go to their offices feel the same way. It used to be synonymous to convenience since you are able to escape the hustle and bustle of EDSA. But that was ages ago. What happened? Was there a change in management? Is it because there are just too many commuters these days? Or is it just because they are soo inefficient? I'm leaning on the latter.

Am I wrong to think that if only they increase the frequency of the trains that it would make a difference? Those trains also does not have to stop at the station for more than 2-3 minutes. This would avoid it being jampacked that passengers in the other stations will not be able to squeeze themselves in. This would thus avoid those freaking "skipping trains" that also adds to the delay and the "stop entry" solution they use every single day. Imagine (at the North station), people are spilling over half of EDSA already! Geez... Oh, I should take a picture sometime.

Don't I sound logical?

I also wonder if the guards do know what they are looking for in our bags. I mean I am not opposed to the idea of being searched for my own security but I don't think a small stick (or ballpen sometimes) poking to see a glimpse of the top of your bag will show them if you have any offensive weapon there, right? Such a waste of time!

I'm also irritated with that guy making the announcement in the (North) station. Geez... he's way too talkative. He's not really being helpful, just plain noisy when you want peace & quiet in your mornings. His talking does not really help alleviate the problems of MRT, does it? I tell you it gets worst by the day. Oh, and there are drivers (of the MRT) who's also sooo irritating. Their voice is too loud for comfort especially if you just want to close your eyes and get that power nap. As if their sound system is good, it's screeching-ly annoying!

So, that goes my mornings from Monday to Friday! Now, I was wondering if anyone of you knows a different route in Mindanao Avenue like fx/van that goes to Ayala or maybe a carpool?
Huhuhu! They're giving me stress!

oh boy!

Can I just rant here a bit... I guess I can since it's my blog, my space.

It's our first time to attend a baptism that you will need a stub to get inside the chapel. And we were with Enzo so, imagine the inconvenience having to wait outside. Good thing I decided to just hear mass while waiting for hubby who has that lucky stub because he is one of the godparents. Wouldn't it be nice for your guests to be able to witness the ceremony? The church I guess only gives stubs for the parents and the godparents. Well, at least, we could have been advised that only the godparents will be allowed entry and your wife and son could just proceed to the reception venue. Oh and if you lose that stub, you have to pay Php50.

We have attended baptisms in the past and they were even held in a small church/chapel but all guests were welcome to attend the ceremony. This is a first!
