Birthday Loot #2: Charles & Keith Peep Toe/Slingback Shoes

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

This peep toe/slingback shoes is so pretty and versatile - I can wear on jeans and even on office clothes, nice diba? Got it for almost Php1,800.00. There was no intention for me to buy shoes last weekend. In fact, we weren't even supposed to be in Eastwood Mall last Sunday. It's just a spur of the moment buy but both me and hubby got home with a wide smile on our faces. Yes... hubby also bought a Nike rubber shoes. I know he wanted to get one and when I saw the same pair he was looking at in Cash & Carry the other weekend and it was less than 1K in Compex, I urged him to buy. He was telling me he would only buy if I also buy one for myself... alam nya kasi that I'm kuripot when it comes to myself but for my boys... go! Go! GO lang ako! So I agreed and ended up with this lovely pair.

Birthday Loot #1: FaceShop's Peeling Day

Got this last night when we went out to do our grocery in Landmark Trinoma. I told hubby I wanted to try this product I've read in one of the blogs (forgot lang which among the many).

I honestly don't have any beauty routines on my face aside from the daily wash - that's it. Though my officemates said I have a very nice skin - except for the blackheads I have on my face. I hope this would do the trick. I don't like to have facials as I'm scared that it hurts - parang dentist lang. I know... I know... I underwent CS (twice for that matter) but still scared of going to have a facial or the dentist. Hahaha! I even told hubby payag na ako to have baby #3 mawala lang 'tong toothache na 'to grrr! And yes - I'm having a toothache since Friday kasi hayz! I've tried Panadol, Advil, Alaxan FR and now, Ponstan which I hope will finally take care of this pressing problem. Problem talaga yan!

Good News, North Folks!

My dad just shared with me that Forever 21 will open a branch in SM The Block. Yipeey! I so love the dresses, blouses, shirts and accessories I got there. For me, their price is reasonable and even comparable to the local shops we have.

Here are some of the fabulous finds I got from Forever 21 (I cant't find the other pictures as they are most likely stored na in the external hard drive):

Can you see the orange-black-violet-green striped skirt am wearing? That's my latest loot from Forever 21. I have another skirt (gray-black stripes) which you will see in the next photo. I so love these skirts. I don't mind hoarding them. Trust me, it is very comfortable to wear. I wasn't even planning to get a new skirt and was just looking for accessories to give to my son's teachers for Christmas when I saw it on a rack with a big, yellow placard that says "SALE." Just had to grab it for only Php350. Sulit na! I'm planning to get at least 2 more of this kind of skirt during my shopping spree next month. Yup, it's my birthday and since we are on a "tipid mode," I'd like to go shopping to revamp my wardrobe instead of the regular pig outs we do on birthdays hahaha!

The blouse, on the other hand, is a gift from our Ninang last Christmas.

This is the other skirt...nice noh? I forgot na how much I got this but it wasn't on sale. There's a similar black & white stripes which I regret not getting. The white shirt is also from Forver 21. It has a cute design in front. Sayang I can't find the other pictures that will sana show you the cute details of this shirt.

This is a brown dress from Forever 21. It also has a belt. I was even able to wear it in the office when I was preggy. I just took out the belt.

The checkered blouse I'm wearing here (background: Sofitel) is another loot from Forever 21. I have another checkered polo but I can't find a picture of it. When I bought this, my Papa even commented "checkered na naman!"

See my headband... that's from Forever 21. I wear it when I feel "girly" for the day.

The new branch, according to my dad will be located where "Our Home" used to be. I wonder when they plan to open?

I saw this pair at a shoe store (Shoe Salon perhaps?) here at the 3rd floor of Greenbelt 5. I'm not sure though if the Crocs store carries this design already. Retail price is Php 1,850 and it also comes in color red.

Enzo's size in Crocs, if I remember correctly, is 8-9. He has another (still unused) pair with size 10-11 which was given to him as a birthday gift by hubby's officemates.

And I also like the one with Lightning McQueen as it is Enzo's current fave. nuninuninuni...

my shoe story

I'll be frank... I'm no shoe-aholic. I only have 3 "office" shoes (that used to be just 2 so the 3rd one is the story of this post), a sandals, 2 rubber slippers, Crocs and a Chucks high-cut in our shoe cabinet. I share this shoe cabinet with hubby who owns more shoes than me. Well, even my son at age 2 have more shoes than me geez! Since I have a few pairs, I make sure that I buy the quality ones. I was even hooked on Naturalizer at one point until me and Charles & Keith met a year ago hahaha! Naturalizer has been and will always be my trusted brand. I can only have a pair from that brand but it would last me 2-3 years at the least (except for minor repairs it will need from Mr. Quickie). I have decided to try Charles & Keith last year when I learned my officemates are going crazy over its' sale season. It made me wonder. The picture on the right is my first ever Charles & Keith... a lot cheaper than my Naturalizer (half the price really) but as comfortable. This shoes is the one that I've lost...

Our office was organizing an annual conference on CSR last November 19-20, 2009 and since I am part of the Secretariat, we have to be at the venue days before the event. So, of course, I've brought my one trusted pair of shoes (which I have been using in the office). On my way home from work, I placed my shoes in a paper bag and put it down at the MRT. I was tired and sleepy so I dozed off to la-la-land. It was already at the North Station when I woke up so we hurriedly went out of the couch and off to Trinoma. We haven't really gotten that far when I realized that I forgot my paper bag with my shoes (and my boss' calendar but that's another thing). Oh oh! What will I wear at the conference? And like I've said earlier, I don't really own too many pairs at the same time and I don't want to spend on one that wasn't even planned in the first place. We went back to the MRT office but it could not be located anymore geez! Would anyone really be interested in my paper bag which just my stuff in the office and that used shoes? I was even crying to hubby because I was sooo frustrated but since I have no other choice, off we went to Charles & Keith. I saw "my shoes" there and it was even on sale but I have my "what if" dilemma that my shoes will be found so I got another pair.

The next day when hubby came home from work while I was staying at the conference venue, he checked with the MRT office if by any chance, someone returned the reported paper bag we lost... and guess what? It was there (together with all my other stuff intact) and I was thankful. Now, I have my 3 pairs. The other one is the Naturalizer which I have had for a few years already but I haven't had fixed yet. And nope, I'm still no shoe-aholic but I "heart" my shoes.

Oh, would you even guess that hubby is shoe-aholic? Yes, he is! But he wouldn't admit it.

Hubby's loot

Last Friday, hubby went home happily with his loot. It's been a while since he owned a brand new one since he usually settles for my phone.














So even if he kept insisting that he doesn't want nor need a new phone, he cannot keep himself from tinkering with it hahaha! Sorry for the blurry photo as we were still at the moving MRT when I took it using my iPhone.










We ended the night with our current addiction (more of his craving done mine really!), Charlie Chan pasta with 4-Cheese and New York's Finest pizza (half each) from Yellow Cab... burp!

What's wrong with SM?

I wonder what's wrong with SM?

We went last Saturday to Mall of Asia just because hubby prefers the Cuts4Tots branch there. So to avoid the hassle, we decided to do our grocery at the SM Hypermart since we are there already. We usually go to Landmark, Trinoma for our grocery. But to my dismay, I totally forgot that they don't have Colgate anymore as well as Palmolive...geez! Oh, I was told by one of the salesman behind the counter where Monterey used to be that Monterey also pulled out! What?! In the end, it was still a hassle for hubby had to drop by yesterday at Landmark, Trinoma to buy the items that were not readily available in SM. So really what is wrong?

And even Star Cinema pulled out of their cinemas?

Last Monday, as the rest of the Filipino people is mourning the passing away of Former President Corazon Aquino, hubby is silently mourning the lost of his Sony Ericsson (the one we got from my dad which replaced his Nokia unit). He doesn't really remember where he misplaced it. And I have tried calling his number but it was just ringing then after a couple of tries, I could no longer reach the number. Some soul probably got hold of it already and didn't have the conscience to return it to the owner huhuhu!

Now, we are on a look-out for a new mobile and we're also waiting for funds to come in hahaha! It's either I buy myself an iPhone *eyes twinkling* and hubby can use my O2. Or we are considering these units:

1. htc Touch Viva

2. Nokia E63 is way cheaper and we can even buy 2 (the Ruby Red color for me harharhar!)

But I will forever drool on this...

I can even settle for the old model. I hope there is a reasonable price in Greenhills.

Am still around, I just don't have the motivation to blog until this came along...

We got it last night courtesy of my tita who came home from the States. I was supposed to pay for it since I asked her to check it for me because the iPhone I wanted was locked to AT&T (as she informed me). But my tita said it's her gift to Enzo *eyes twinkling* an early birthday gift! I sooo look forward to playing Mario... I miss this game! Since this Wii came from the US, do you think it's modified already to play pirated games or not? If not, how much is it to have it modified and any reliable shops?

The Collezione Family

As promised last Friday, let me share with you the latest pictures of the little boy. He's such a big boy already but calls himself a "baby" still. Oh well, of course he will always be our baby! This is his "first ever" maong pants courtesy of Guess.

I was hoping to get my Collezione dress in the same color as that of Enzo's but I got tired of waiting for my size so I got this red/pink shade instead. I'm happy the color suits me well.

slow but very much welcome!

Work today has been "slow" compared to the past days and weeks since my superior assumed the position of Interim. He is out of town. "Slow" but very much welcome on my part hihihi!

As I am writing this entry, I am devouring the macarons of Delifrance (just the box of three as I find it a bit expensive for something sooo small). I like the strawberry and choco-mint. Bizu has better-tasting macarons but more expensive than Delifrance for the same size and since I don't want to cross to Greenbelt, I would have to settle for this.

I'll try to find tonight a decent office shoes. We are required to wear closed shoes with at least 1-inch heels. grrr! I'm not used anymore to wearing closed shoes! I prefer buying shoes and sandals in Naturalizer although expensive but you can never question it's durability. Imagine I bought this shoes way back in 2005 and I am still able to use it up to now for office (except that the sides are open so it's not the proper office shoes). But since my budget is limited, I'll have to scout somewhere else. Any recommendations?

Last Friday, we bought Enzo a Collezione polo shirt (bearing the map logo) so I'll also check later if they already have the Collezione dress in my size (of almost the same color as Enzo's aqua blue).

Oh well, I'll limit my purchases to these two items for now.

A glimpse of Giselle Sanchez

Just a short kwento... as I was having my haircut and manicure last Friday at Piandre in Greenbelt 1, I saw Giselle Sanchez (with her daughter) came in to have a wax (I think?). She's sooo white (like my son hihihi!) and so lively! Her husband came to pick them up afterwards. No, I didn't have the guts to have my picture taken hahaha! (if that's what you're thinking!)

By the way, lately, I have been going to Piandre for my haircut and manicure. And even if I don't recall the names of the stylist/manicurist who took care me the last time I went there, I am still satisfied with the output. I think I should remember JR (?) who did my new do and Myla who did my manicure so I could book with them on my future visits.

empty handed :(

We were at the Mega Crocs Sale last weekend. We went there last Saturday (March 14) with my in-laws (and Enzo in tow = bad idea!) at around 4 past. The lines to get inside Mega Tent was manageable that time but slow moving. At least it was moving and we were able to get inside in less than an hour really (or even less). Since I have a BPI Edge card, my entrance fee was waived. As I was about to pay for hubby and MIL (P50 each), the girl behind the counter told me to just go ahead so their entrance fees were also waived. Good thing! Inside the Mega Tent was another story. The long lines to the cashier (which doesn't seem to move really) is what convinced us to go home instead. Geez... I was only hoping to buy a pair and maybe 2 for Enzo while the others waiting for their turn at the cashier was holding not 1 but at least 2 big plastic bags. If it was just hubby and me, we could have stayed longer but since Enzo was with us, it was not such a good idea. Good thing we didn't pay the entrance fee for we left the Tent empty-handed! Imagine the officemate of hubby went home with 32 pairs! And we were told (?) that they even lowered the prices in the afternoon of Sunday because there were just too many shoppers.

I was thinking of getting this Cleo for myself.









And I was hoping to get Enzo a new pair or 2 perhaps just like this Disney Tigger Pelican and this ordinary Kid's Cayman.

If I had a baby girl (maybe next time!), I would love to have us both in matching outfits. It would be cute, I bet! Although, I can resort to "color coordination" but I think it would be more fitting for him to match his dad's so we start with this:

Cute noh? Maybe next time I can post here the many pairs of shoes that Enzo has now at a very young age. Mostly they were from my in-laws and ninong Mac, the rest are also gifts. This pair is probably our first ever big purchase. A few we have given away /or disposed since either they are too little for his feet now or shows some wear and tear already.

Bakkwa

... or what we commonly refer to as beef/pork jerky. These are actually "barbeque meat" and the best one you could find is at Bee Cheng Hiang in Singapore.

It's sooo good so you must remember to bring some home when you happen to be in Singapore (there's an outlet in Chinatown as well as at the Great World City near the Cold Storage supermarket) or even when you are in transit at the Changi airport. I bought home a few for hubby since he has asked for it and I wasn't able to buy him any pasalubong aside from the Royce chocolate bar. It's a bit expensive at SGD11 (roughly Php 352.00) for only 4 pieces of those sliced pork. Then I bought 2 pieces each for my parents and my in-laws. We have 1 sliced pork left in the refrigerator waiting to be devoured.

my new found love

I have always been in love with Hershey's (and will always be!) and I have once fallen in love with Kitkat but fell out of love since the Kitkat in the stores here are not the same Kitkat I used to enjoy. But I found my new love when I went to Singapore last week... the so-called Rolls Royce of chocolates - "Royce!"

My former officemate, Ronnette who is now based in Singapore bought us the one which goes with an ice pack as it requires refrigeration which we shared after dinner. Sooo yummy... you can't stop! I forgot I was on a diet hahaha! I was hesitant to bring one back home as it might just melt (and since I believe they already have a branch in Greenhills) so I just purchased the one that does not require refrigeration and it cost me SGD7 (roughly Php224.00). Way way expensive than the "bigger" family block of Cadbury which I got for only SGD3.80 (roughly Php 121.60). Cadbury is way cheaper in Singapore than here in the Philippines. The Cadbury was still in promo when I bought them at the Cold Storage supermarket (Great World City) but they have increased their price to SGD4.90 (roughly Php 156.80) since then. Chocolates though are cheaper in Mustafa(?). They sell the Cadbury family block at SGD4.50 (roughly Php 144.00). Not bad huh for pasalubong.

So, back to my new found love... I have yet to go to Greenhills so I can share with hubby the experience of a Rolls Royce!

Birthday Attire

I sooo like this! I saw this dress in Gap a few days ago and I'm thinking of wearing it for the lil prince birthday. It's roughly P1,800 so I don't know if I really want to splurge on it since I'm tightening our belts this coming month because hubby's salary will be put on hold as he move on to another adventure...

Yup! That's final as contract has been signed and resignation has been submitted.

Geez! I know... I know... I said I'll go back to work...

Finally, I was able to buy 1 outer layer and 2 reusable pads (approximately PhP1,000) from Mothercare Trinoma (3rd floor beside Gymboree). Tried it already for two consecutive nights. And the verdict... WOW! Arlene (the saleslady) is right when she told me that their customers say it could last through the night. Amazingly, it did and the pad is still dry in the morning. The past two nights, I would wake up to check if there was any leak since I am worried that Enzo will be soaking wet but he's not. However, I am going back to Huggies Dry Comfort tonight since our smart nappy is in the laundry huhuhu!

I'm looking forward to my next payroll so I can buy another set. ***highly recommended***

Newborn - 2-5 kgs.
Small - 3-6 kgs.
Medium - 5.5-9 kgs.
Large - 9-13.5 kgs.

Reusable pads come in newborn, small/medium, and large sizes. Our Enzo uses medium. Try it for yourself.

mothercare

We happened to pass by this shop in Trinoma yesterday, mothercare and I can't resist but to go inside and take a look. They have really cute cute (oh! did I say cute!) stuff... I saw this swimming trunks (or was it called swimming nappy?) where you don't have to buy swim diapers anymore. It's roughly PhP800. Regular swimming trunks cost PhP400. These are just estimate costs because I did not write it down so I don't quite remember the exact figures. They also have wet suits for PhP2,000 to keep your babies warm while they go swimming, so so cute! They also have washable diapers which we still have to try for ourselves. The saleslady said it can absorb 3-4 times and since it's washable, it's environment friendly as well. Plus you don't have to buy diapers anymore which could save you a lot. It's roughly PhP500 with 2 pads already. What do you think? Worth to try?

Their products are a bit pricey but hey looking around will cost you nothing hahaha!
